  • Thanks for dropping by and taking a look at my folio. I hope it makes you pause and think, or at least smile for a moment!

Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 1993, I've been illustrating, designing and art directing for clients across the world. Based in Scotland, I could be virtually anywhere - taking assignments from San Francisco, Beijing, Sydney, Moscow and Montevideo. Working with other creatives I produce lively colorful children's books, illustrate newspapers and magazines and help to build global brands such as Virgin, Orange and Benetton.

I draw using a touch sensitive display - the Wacom Cintiq - then color and finish my illustration in Adobe Photoshop. Sometimes I use Adobe Illustrator to create vector sequences for animation. Whatever the medium, my aim is to grab your attention and spark your imagination!

In 2006 my images for Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class Suite received a Bronze Award from the Association of Illustrators and my recruitment ads for Ecolab were recognised with a GRAMIA (Grocery Advertising & Marketing Industry Award). In 2008 I illustrated The Rock Bible, which was awarded an editorial merit in the HOW International design awards. My work has also been shortlisted for the prestigious V&A Illustration Awards.

I live and work from a farmhouse in the Buchan plains north of Aberdeen, a beautiful and sometimes desolate landscape best viewed from a fur-lined parka. Picture fields of ripening barley and oilseed rape under expansive skies. Peewits and oystercatchers are swooping over the hedgerows ...
